Books about tiny people (i.e. The Borrowers, Wee Free Men, Truckers, Indian in the Cupboard, The Rats of NIMH, etc.)
I've always really enjoyed the idea of tiny people living unseen in our world. The Borrowers especially sparked my imagination when I was younger. Does anyone know of other books about people (or small creatures) that are a few inches high living in a big world? Preferably not magic based (fairies), but willing to try. Edit - What a wonderful and helpful response from you all. I have read quite a few of these, but there were many I had never heard of before. Many are more children's books - what do you expect for such a whimsical concept - but quite a few seemed to fit my criteria perfectly. Way back in the days of Scarab Lord there was a video made called “Rats of Nimh” (pretty sure that’s what it was called). I was trying to look it up today because it was funny as hell but I can’t find it anymore. Does anybody still have a link for that?
LGBTQ+ Books like Watership Down/Ga'hoole series/Rats of NIMH/etc
I love books with creatures in them, but it would be neat to see some of myself in them. I suppose suggestions that aren't LGBTQ+, but are good are also welcome (as long as you say they aren't LGBTQ+ in your recommendation).
A Book Signed by the Author’s Wife (Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH)
Hello, everyone. I think I might have an interesting copy of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. I bought it a while ago from ThriftBooks, and only just now found out it might have some extra value to it (aside from being a good book). The inside is signed by someone in cursive, so I had no idea what it said until today (I can’t read cursive), but after asking my mom what it said, she told me it apparently was signed by the author’s wife back in 1977, to someone named Juliet for their birthday. It reads: “July 2, 1977 Happy Birthday, Juliet. Sally Conly P.S. my husband wrote this book. Robert e O’Brien was a pen name.
