This Finviz Screener shows 3 Steel Companies selling under book value. Why Steel?

Does anyone have the macroeconomic knowledge as to why so many steel companies fit this screen?
Could just be a coincidence but I want to understand why steel?

How can I avoid stocks like this in my Finviz screener?

Hey everyone!
I'm currently experimenting with a day trading method on the 5 minute timeframe. I've got a good screen on Finviz set up, but I can't seem to find out why certain stock candles appear all small and spaced out, like this. What's responsible for this and what can I put in my Finviz screen to avoid most or all of these?
Thanks!

Are institutional investors with short positions counted under "Institutional Ownership" in stock screeners like Finviz?

Can't seem to find a straight answer after some googling. Maybe I'm not asking the right question?

Atleast please add the ability to filter by revenue growth and EPS growth quarter over in percentage terms, not in nominal usd value.
Also the ability to share scan settings would be great

Best Crypto Screener similar to Finviz for stocks?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a crypto screener offering similar type of technical filters and sub filters than Finviz.

The above metrics are the one I usually use, does anyone know of a crypto screener that offers the same type of filters/parameters?
Free tools are great but open to paying options if the tool is great.
Thanks

Finviz Stock Screener

I’ve been using TOS as my screener and it’s fine, but looking for something else that is 1) more user-friendly 2) has more criteria to choose from. Also as a quality research tool to screen tickers. Recommendations, thoughts?

Finviz Screener Settings For Fundamentals & Technicals!

Would love to get feedback on some Finviz settings that I made recently. Essentially how these were composed were from comparing good companies in the stock market to bad ones. Then seeing what the good companies did extremely well and what the bad companies did extremely bad. Then i'd adjust the settings to where we'd be able to avoid a great deal of stocks who's fundamentals and/or technicals didn't line up with the criteria that I created.
With that said, here's a few categories that really stuck out from the steady upward trending companies:
Fundamentals:
- All of the companies had positive Earnings Per Share (a company's profit divided by the outstanding shares of its common stock) this year. - Institutional Ownership: This particular category varied amongst the companies, but the lowest that I came across had a little over 10% of institutional ownership. Most had a much higher percentage, but to avoid leaving good companies out of our screener settings, I stuck with an above 10% setting in this category. - Positive Sales Q/Q: This should be of no surprise. Investors love to see progress being made when it comes to sales. Especially from quarter-to-quarter.
- Short Float: It's nothing more frustrating than being in a stock that is being shorted to death. Well, I guess it's a good thing that these companies have a short float under 1%. This provides less resistance for the stock to move upward and helps us be able to profit larger percentages/amounts in the long run. Edit: Had to use the under 5% option for this particular setting. If you're able to place it at under 1%, then feel free to do so.
- Positive Return on Assets (an indicator of how profitable a company is relative to its total assets).
- Positive Return on Equity (calculated by dividing net income by shareholders' equity).
- Positive Return on Investment (an approximate measure of an investment's profitability).
- Positive Gross Margin (a company's sales minus its cost of goods sold).
- Positive Operating Margin (measures the percentage of revenue a company keeps as operating profit).
- Positive Net Profit Margin (measures how much net income or profit is generated as a percentage of revenue).
Technicals:
- Above 20 Simple Moving Average (SMA) - Above 50 Simple Moving Average (SMA) - Above 200 Simple Moving Average (SMA)
The importance of a stock being positioned above these indicators will show that the companies' technicals are matching their fundamentals and providing that much needed cash appreciation to its shareholders. Not to mention that when a stock breaks into a new high while being in this uptrends, they have the potential to run significantly higher with relative ease. I'll mention that for anyone who may see the charts in these settings & feel that the stocks are too high up or that it won't go higher, don't count them out. You'd be surprised how many times I thought the same thing just for a stock to continue higher. I've seen this kind of stuff happen time and time again and I'm sure many of you have as well.
