I am considering to switch over to Fidelity Active Trader Pro from TOS because of the $0 commissions for OTCs. I have paid about $400 in OTC commissions in just one month and that is unacceptable for a small account like mine. How are Fidelity OTC order executions? Are they about the same or better than TOS? Any other advice? Thanks
So I currently have an account with fidelity where I invest long term in stocks with a bit of swing trading, and I would like to get into options. I have heard that Fidelity’s active trader pro is not the best, especially for Mac users (me). Is it worth it to open an account with TD Ameritrade to get access to their thinkorswim platform? Should I switch over to TD completely? Any advice welcome, thanks.

Hi Folks, I have used Thinkorswim platform for TDA and loved it. Ive been recently using Fidelity active trader pro and doesn’t like very much. Is there a way to place limit order trade without entering price manually ? Thinkorswim has nice price ladder where you can click to submit fast buy or sell orders as market moves. In fidelity I feel we have to manually add limit/market order and doesn’t really have buttons like thinkorswim to make fast trades. Am I missing something ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I recently switched from TOS web to desktop active trader and I've noticed this problem on multiple contracts. For some reason the contracts don't update real time with the stock and it only seems to be the desktop that does this as the web app contracts are always accurate. Before any of you as, yes I have enough RAM allocated and yes real time is on. What seems to be the problem? Let me start by saying I’m not asking for your strategies and I understand this takes time. My goal though is to eventually leave my full time job and trade professionally while I travel between countries. I’m armed with a MacBook Pro, Naked Forex, Trading In The Zone and various other trading books. I just signed up with Fidelity and started setting up on Active trader Pro...what a dinosaur for a high-volume day trader...even WE Bull is much more seamless and intuitive...think and swim trumps this like night and day!
EDIT: Issue has resolved, problem seemed to only last 2 days. I hadn't fired up ATP in a while since I went on vacation. For some reason the volume chart is no longer tracking properly on intraday timeframes(1m, 5m, 15m, etc..) for indices(SPX, XSP, IXIC, DJI, etc.) It will no longer show the history of the volume bars of an index for earlier periods in the day and will only update for what is currently happening. If I change the chart to another security then come back to the same index, all the volume bars will disappear! Is this a known issue or is there anyway for me to fix this? I use volume frequently when I decide to day trade and if I can't fix this soon I will need to move my entire account to a new broker.

Everyone talks about Coinbase Pro, but I never see Gemini mentioned here. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but Gemini has become my preferred method for turning that dirty fiat into sweet sweet crypto. Since Gemini gives you 10 free transfers a month, you can send your crypto to any exchange, or DCA small amounts into your cold wallet without getting ravaged with transfer fees. TL;DR - Buy crypto on Gemini, and then send to any wallet for zero transaction fees (10x/month). Gemini has low trading fees (0.10~0.35%), but you must select Gemini ActiveTrader. PROS: +++ 10 free transfers every month. Seriously you could buy $1 of ETH, send it to your cold wallet, and still pay zero transfer fees. This is the biggest advantage of Gemini, and the primary reason why I ditched Coinbase. + Relatively low fees (but you must select ActiveTrader in your settings! See below). Fees for most traders are 0.10% (maker) to 0.35% (taker). + Instantly transfer money from your bank to buy crypto. No fees. 2 issues: 1) my ATP keeps disappearing from my taskbar and start menu--it is still in my Control Panel programs; and, 2) "('!' in a yellow triangle)Warning\nActive Trader Pro experienced a problem with Daily Dashboard and had to close it. Please try and reopen." button below that. --this does not seem to interfere with other tools in ATP I have so far used. I don't know why this is happening or if these two items are related.
