Is forex trading in a funded account of proprietary trading firms permitted as per FEMA and other RBI regulations?
Many proprietary forex trading platforms like FTMO are included in the Alert List Published by RBI. Alert List contains names of entities which are neither authorised to deal in forex under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA) nor authorised to operate electronic trading platform (ETP) for forex transactions under the Electronic Trading Platforms (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2018. This list is not exhaustive and is based on what was known to RBI at the time of publication. However in the case were a trader trades in a FUNDED account, will the trades made by him in the funded account be deemed to be services provided by an employee/contractor, and the share of profit received by him deemed to be in the nature of salary/commission/consultancy fee? Would the trades taken by the trader on behalf of the firm be non-permissible/illegal (trading in FCY-FCY contracts illegal?) under FEMA and other RBI regulations? Throw some light on the taxability of share of profit received by the resident trader.

Business bank account for a proprietary crypto trading firm
Okay, this is doing my head in now. We are a very small and new proprietary crypto trading firm based in the UK and are in need of a bank account in order to send funds to exchanges and pay for infrastructure costs. Ideally, it should support GBP and USD. All we want to do is trade our own money and be left alone, we don't have any clients nor provide any kind of service, but because of the nature of our business, we have already been rejected from NatWest, Revolut, and Signature Bank (this one is supposed to be crypto-friendly). Has anyone here done a similar thing before and have any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi everyone, and thank you for reading this post. I am finishing up my undergrad degree, and after taking my Derivatives course I have decided that I want to pursue a career in trading. I realize that the derivatives world is small, and I am looking for a prop trading firm that starts entry level traders on salary. I’ve been reading other Reddit posts, but a lot of them are quite old. I’ve seen job postings for entry level traders, but I need help finding the firms that will invest in their entry level traders. Right now I’m looking at T3 and they seem iffy. Does anyone have any advice regarding which firms to look at, and which ones to run away from? EDIT: I was mainly looking for advice like “Hey you should stay clear of these firms X,Y,Z while looking for more firms similar to A,B,C.” For example, when doing Google searches for prop firms and entry level positions, Maverick trading is a firm that pops up on my search. Oh wow looks cool! Not really. I look into them and everyone says to stay clear. I’m not asking y’all to just list off firms that you know of. I’m looking for people who are experienced and/or have heard a thing or two regarding the operation of some of these firms and their structure. Question if this sounds legit. My friend came up with an algorithm trading futures and he was able to gain capital and get funded 5million dollars by a Private Equity firm. Now he is selling corporate license accounts on a trading platform for 5k, that allows you to trade with 500k using his algorithm. Whatever the gain, the PE firm gets 10%, Manager (my friend) gets 10% and the account purchaser gets 80%. I am new to PE and futures trading so wanted to ask if this sounds legit.
