I have had this vehicle for the last 6 years. Mom bought it new, I bought from her when she stopped driving. All that I have ever done are routine oil changes, tires, batteries, wiper blades and air filters. A week ago when I killed the car, the fan under the hood in the front would still be blowing, even though the engine was off. The fan would blow 5-8 minutes & then stop. This was something new it had never done before. Outside temps were mild. Four days ago I drove 30 miles for a Dr appointment. When I left there I went to a big box store to get gas & groceries. As I turned into the lot a red warning appeared on my dash, “Danger! Engine is Overheating”. Then an alarm started going off. I stopped at the gas pumps and killed it. Let it sit for awhile and cool down before putting gas in it. Sat longer before starting it. It started. No warning. No alarms. Drove slowly to store. Went inside & bought some gallons of water. Popped the hood. Felt the cap of the overflow container, didn’t want steam blowing back on me. Filled up the container with the water, closed the hood and drove to the mechanic shop I used for years when I lived in this community. Explained about the fan blowing, then about the incident that just happened with warning, alarm & adding water. He said he would work it in & check it out. He came back some time later to say he believed it was a small leak in the coolant system. He didn’t find the leak. He told me to keep an eye on it, watch for small puddles underneath where it could be leaking. If I see that, call him & bring it in. I know Absolutely Nothing about cars, only how to fill up the gas & check tire pressure. I cannot afford a new or different car, so this one needs to be fixed and be a trustworthy vehicle for many, long distance Dr visits. Any help, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I recently purchased a 2012 GMC Canyon from a friend and I love it. It's the right amount of truck and it's great on gas. But, now that it's getting into winter, I realize it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get the heat to work well. I was looking into remote start solutions, but I don't want to cut any wires. I've seen t harness, but I'm having trouble finding one for my year truck. Any solution?

As the photo shows, my wife had a weld break right where the flexible pipe meets with the exhaust mount. Can you guys give me a couple ideas on how to repair this as cheap as possible?
I'm looking at buying a used Sierra with 166k miles. Provided it drives well and other variables check out. I wanted to know if this model is reliable as I don't have much experience with GMCs. Are there any issues I should be aware of or be on the lookout for? It's the 5.3 V8 4x4
had the truck since 60,000km now has 275,000 and last winter had some issues going into limp mode (traction control and stabilitrack turns off and rpms rev high) and now the problem is reoccurring this winter. did a lil bit of research n came to the conclusion that it’s my tps, anyone else have this issue or have any advice to give would be great!
The fuel tank and spare tire support tubes are rusting out. I can't seem to find the parts for the boxed frame they should come it kits. Only channel frame kits are what I've turned up. The 2012 year seems to be a problem as well. Please help if you can. And thanks for reading my 1st post. Rich

Hi, I am a 21F who has no knowledge of trucks. However, my boyfriend has a 2012 GMC Sierra with extended cab (I was gonna write it was a two door 😩 shows how much I know) Anyways, he wanted to get a center console latch so I can sit next to him when he drives. Will a 2012 GMC Canyon shortbed hard Canopy fit my 2019 Chevy Colorado Short bed?
Will the fit be close enough to work? The canopy is available on Marketplace but it's 6 hours total driving to get it. It would save me $2500+ and the color matches. Will it fit though? From what I can tell, it's going to be very close. I'm by no means an expert though and don't want to waste 6 hours of time and gas just to be disappointed.
Hey everyone, Looking at purchasing a 2012 Sierra 1500 with the 4.8L V8 4 speed Very nice truck, super clean in and out. I took it for a test drive yesterday and it seems a little sluggish off the start. Almost like it's starting in 2nd gear. No mods done to it as far as I am aware but I'm looking to see if there's ways to increase the acceleration by a bit or thoughts on the truck in general? Won't be towing anything for now, maybe a small 15-20ft camper down the road. I really like the truck, it just seems like even at low or higher end speeds when you press on the gas it takes a while to get moving. Thanks
2012 GMC Acadia loud engine noise. Flywheel? Timing Chain? What could be causing this. The truck WONT move in any gear!!
Ok so when I start my Acadia up here’s the loud noise that I hear. It sounds like it’s coming from underneath the car. Could it be the flywheel damaged, broken timing chain or something else? The truck won’t move when I shift it in gears either!!!
