[Feature Request] Simple Volume Profile for Point and Figure Charts

Seems like it would not be very hard to make a volume profile indicator for point and figure charts that just counts the number of X's and O's at a given price (or price range if not using ticks/pips/points etc.). The available volume profile indicators don't seem to work all that well with the PnF charts and this would be a neat little addition for all of us who like using them. The quantity could be displayed as both histogram and numbered amount at the right or left side of the screen. Thanks!

Point and Figure Charts Suck in TV

Title and obligatory "I promise I'm not actually mad."
I'm not mad about it, just disappointed at how underdeveloped the massively underrated P&F system is in TV.
You can't change the chart to a "grid." Can't scale box size by %. Can't make trendlines set at X degree angles I'm sure there are other issues too.
I pay quite a bit of money for the service and was a little disgruntled to the shallowness of the P&F options. There have been a lot of complaints about it for over 2 years. See below.
Links to previous posts showing I am not the only P&F fan:

Are Tradingview's Point and Figure charts inconsistent?

I'm quite confused on point and figure charts. They're supposed to plot X's and O's without regard to time... so why do charting softwares allow you to change the time interval? This impacts the ATR which makes sense, but it doesn't just do that in tradingview. If you chart traditionally with the same box size, the time interval will still change how they look. They will skip some reversals and stack boxes on top of each other, making less rows than there should be on higher timeframes. This is a pretty huge problem because it can lead to inconsistent horizontal counts. If you have a low ATR and low interval set it can wildly overestimate a count compared to higher intervals.

Request for Wyckoff/Taylor 1X1 Point and Figure Chart Plotting

I would like to thank you for a great development team, relations team, and most of all those who use these tools through Pine Script and then freely share with others. My request to the development team is to add a Wyckoff style of 1X1 point and figure chart. It is a great tool for intraday usage. I will use a direct quote from the excellent book by Jeremy du Plessis, The Definitive Guide to Point and Figure: A Comprehensive Guide to the Theory and Practical Use of the Point and Figure Charting Method.
“Consider now what happens if the price rises from 15 to 16 without first falling to 14. You need to plot an X representing 16, but you do not need to move to the third column to do this, because there is room above the O in the second column, shown by the shaded area in Figure 2-6. The chart therefore becomes Figure 2-7.
📷
Figure 2-7: Development of a 1-box reversal chart showing one-step-back
Therefore, contrary to many beliefs, it is possible to plot an X and an O in the same column.
The one-step-back is a powerful sign. When the price reverses by just one box, it may be the start of a correction or could just be a temporary aberration in the trend, so you need to wait for the next plot in the column to tell you whether the trend is going to continue from the previous column or whether it is a true reversal. If it is a temporary change, the price will reverse back and when it does, the next X or O must be plotted in the same column.”
Course the box size and reversal size setting would remain the same, so this would require the team to change chart display methodology. Thanks for considering this thought, I think (maybe) others would like to have this option as well. The step back would only occur on a 1X1, 0.75X1, or lower number box size, and cannot occur on any size setting above 1.
Thanks again db

Point and Figure Charts

Point and Figure Charts
A point-and-figure chart is a graphical representation of price movements that ignore the passage of time.
A point-and-figure chart is a graphical representation of price movements that ignore the passage of time. They are not as popular as other forms of charts used in technical analysis, but they can be useful in certain situations. They were first developed in the 1890s by a man named Charles Dow.
They are a series of X columns and O columns. The X's signify a price increase, while the O's represent a decrease. An X is added to the column every time the security's price increases by full box size. A new column is added when the security's price decreases by an equal or greater amount than the reversal size. Then, the first O in the new column is plotted 1 box below the last X of the previous column. A decline in price and a reversal to the upside follow the same rules. For example, a trader chooses a box size of 2 and a 3-box reversal (2x3 P&F chart). If the price continues to move up, X’s are added in a single column for every $2.00 increase in price. When the price declines by at least $6.00, the reversal is triggered and a new column of O’s is started with a first O plotted 1 box below the last X of the previous column.
The size of the box and the reversal can be chosen arbitrarily. Different box sizes provide different perspectives on the price movement of a security. The smaller the size, the greater detail of price fluctuations is shown, and the larger the size, the more short-term action is omitted and a big picture is illustrated. Reversal size follows the same logic and the most commonly used sizes are 1, 3, and 5.
Also, as was already mentioned Point and Figure charts do not take time into consideration and only plot price movements that follow the rules described earlier. Thus, it could take any period for a new box to be plotted (e.g. hours, days, weeks). A greater amount of plotting may be needed when there is an active market period and less plotting will occur in a quiet market.
The most significant advantage of point-and-figure charts is that they help determine critical support and resistance levels since they focus on the number of price swings that occur in a particular congestion space. And while volume is not explicitly shown on the point-and-figure chart, it is not completely lost. Intraday point-and-figure charts record all price change activity, the heavier or lighter volume are reflected in the number of price changes recorded on the chart. And since volume is one of the most important elements in determining support and resistance levels' strength, point-and-figure charts become especially useful when examining at which price levels the most trading takes place.

As we can see from the explanations and examples, point-and-figure charts are very useful in stock market trading. They help traders to identify changes in price trends that may indicate reversals or continuation of those trends.

Feature request for Point and Figure Charts

Following features are needed specific to Point and Figure Charts to make TV amenable to trading on PnF charts:
  1. Ability to scale as per % price values. For example, I should be able to see charts at 0.05%, 0.15%, etc.
  2. 45 deg TLs from major Tops and Bottoms (both extendable and non-extendable) ... the current angle line doesn't work well with compression of boxes, magnification of chart, etc.
  3. Vertical and Horizontal Counts
  4. High and Low Pole
Further reference - all these features are available on Go Charting and Trading View. Attaching some images from Tradepoint desktop version.

45 Deg TLs easily drawn at a Click

High POLES and Low POLES ... easy to select from drop down

Percentage Price Charts

Vertical Counts ... the simple highlighted handle helps you draw these easily

Horizontal Counts ... the highlighted handle leads to this
Adding these tools in Trading View will make it a truly versatile platform even for PnF traders like me.
Also, from a layout POV, space between columns makes for much better readability of PNF charts. While TV has space for Candlestick, bar charts, etc., for some reason you squeeze out all space for PnF charts. Please change that.

Some space could be of real help here.

Whay are Point and Figure charts so underdeveloped?

Why cant i plot p&f charts as per the low/high method? Only high/low and close methods are available. Further why arent there tools to accurately and graphically plot and track counts on such charts. I get people like using candlestick and you shall make that a priority but bring some improvements to p&f charts. Ill get down and suck your [email protected] if you do.
