MT4 having weird data gaps with Oanda, totally fine with Forex.com, consequences for live trading?
In the process of doing historical analysis to collect samples for the trading system I'm working on, I have some copies of MT4 which sometimes have months of chart data even in the 5 minute chart. Being that I'm in the U.S. it has been very easy to open accounts with Oanda/Forex.com to use demo accounts. Over many months I eventually came to abandon Oanda completely for price history analysis, because often times, no matter what I tried to do, deleting history data, even using other programs to download MOUNTAINS of historical tick data (which did help in some situations, but not all), different installations, etc. I came to find that Oanda sourced MT4 charts sometimes had unfixable gaps in price history, and the worst part is, they could appear at any time and just... stay there forever, and they would replicate themselves on new installations.. On the Forex.com demo accounts I noticed the spreads were HORRIBLE compared to Oanda (I assume those mirror the commission free spread regime) but the chart data has been absolutely flawless from day one, with multiple installations using all sorts of crazy charting regimes. Never had a single issue with data gaps or other random BS from the historical charts from Forex.com, which is why I converted pretty much all my active MT4 copies to that. Has anyone else noticed such shenanigans between different broker MT4 feeds? Now here's what really annoyed me. Recently on an Oanda MT4 installation that I only use for live market watching, data from like the past day or two had a 2-3 hour gap on one of the currencies (don't remember which). I threw up my hands and copied over the layouts and stuff to a new Forex.com MT4 installation and now I'm Oanda free. Problem is, if I end up wanting to trade with Oanda, am I going to have to deal with this god damn BS interfering with live trading? Or am I just doing something wrong and the only guy in the room with this issue?

Does anyone know how to find the MT4 server your live account is registered on for FOREX.COM ?
I’ve made demo account and immediately received an email with my demo user and server but haven’t been able to locate a similar email from FOREX.com fr my live account. I can log in to the web trading platform for FOREX.com but again, no cigar on the MT4 sub account. Oanda’s signup was a one stop shop.
