What is an MLM?

Multi-level marketing (MLM), also called pyramid selling, network marketing, and referral marketing, is a marketing strategy for the sale of products or services where the revenue of the MLM company is derived from a non-salaried workforce selling the company's products/services, while the earnings of the participants are derived from a pyramid-shaped or binary compensation commission system.
THIS LIST MAY CONTAIN COMPANIES THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY HAD MLM BRANCH BUT MAY NO LONGER HAVE ONE.
If you see a company and are not sure that it belongs on this list, please reach out. I have compiled this list from the sources listed at the bottom along with input from community members. This list may not be 100% accurate but the goal is to get it as close as possible.

Dollar looks for benefits. Forecast as of 13.11.2020

Dollar looks for benefits. Forecast as of 13.11.2020
Investors wonder if it is relevant to sell the greenback as a safe haven or to buy because the US economy performs better than the euro-area. Therefore, the EURUSD tends to consolidate. Let us discuss this and make up a trading plan.

Weekly US dollar fundamental forecast

The market is like an ocean; the calm follows the storm. But calm sometimes is anxious; investors can’t define the further trend direction. Investors start exiting longs on the US stocks amid the record number of hospitalizations in the USA. Besides, the number of new COVID-19 cases is above 100,000 per day during nine consecutive days, and some US governors impose new restrictions. Another strict lockdown will hardly occur, but local isolation will result in job losses and an economic downturn. The EURUSD bulls will lose the major benefit if the S&P 500 fails to continue the rally.
The euro is supported by easing the market uncertainty and the hope for the global GDP recovery amid the vaccination. The US dollar could benefit from the divergence in economic expansion and monetary policies. According to 90% of 65 Wall Street Journal experts, the financial markets' uncertainty will ease as the US voting results are announced, and there is positive news about the vaccines. 80% of specialists expect the market to stabilize soon. According to Christine Lagarde, the ECB sees far less uncertainty than before amid Joe Biden's victory, progress on Brexit, and successful vaccine tests. The more clarity there is in the market, the less reason to buy safe-haven assets, including the US dollar.
On the other hand, the greenback should benefit from US economic performance. According to Wall Street Journal experts, the euro-area economy is likely to face a double recession while the US economy will show better results than earlier expected. The US GDP should contract by 2.7%, compared to the previously expected drop of 3.6%. The unemployment rate will drop to 6.7%, not to 7.8%. The risk of another downturn within twelve months has been significantly down.

Dynamics of risk of US economic recession

Source: Wall Street Journal
The forecasts of experts look optimistic, but the pandemic does not end. Jerome Powell warns that the next few months will be tough for the United States and that it is too early to assess the impact of vaccine news on the economy's development. New restrictions can discourage those who think the glass is half full.
If the greenback loses the advantage of growth divergence, it may benefit from underestimating uncertainty. There are more than enough reasons for uncertainty growth. It is not known whether Washington's attitude towards Beijing will soften under Biden. It is unknown if Democrats and Republicans will find common ground over the fiscal stimulus. 58% of Wall Street Journal experts expect the stimulus of $1 trillion -$2 trillion, 29% expect less than $1 trillion, 13% predict a stimulus package of $2.1 trillion -$3 trillion.

Weekly EURUSD trading plan

Therefore, some benefits of the US dollar have exhausted, some still work. That is why the EURUSD trend is not clear. If the pair breaks out the resistance at 1.1845, the bulls should go ahead. On the other hand, if the price goes below the support at 1.176, the bears can take control.

Dollar caught a fish in dark waters. Forecast for 02.11.2020

Dollar caught a fish in dark waters. Forecast for 02.11.2020
The primary risk associated with the US presidential election is a possible election-related dispute. Furthermore, there are divergences in monetary policy and economic performance. So, the EURUSD is expectedly down. Let us discuss the Forex outlook and make up a EURUSD trading plan.

Weekly US dollar fundamental forecast

October has become the worst month for the US stock market since March. The bond market has experienced the worst drop since September 2018. In the last week of October, the S&P 500 sank 5.6%, while the Treasury yield rose to 0.858%. According to Bespoke Investment Group, this has only been 17 times since 1962, when the US Treasury yields rose along with the stock indexes’ drop. Investors believe that Joe Biden’s victory will result in the fiscal stimulus boost provided that the Democrats take control over the Senate. If it doesn’t happen, the extra stimulus package will hardly be accepted by Congress. Is it better to buy currencies, selling stocks and bonds?
The S&P 500 bulls hope for a “blue wave.” However, it doesn’t guarantee that the stock index will resume the uptrend. In 2016, the Wall Street experts predicted the US stock market to fall in case of Donald Trump's victory. At first, everything was going on as expected, but the stock indexes quickly recovered afterward. A wrong forecast cost George Soros $1 billion. And not only him.
Nobody wants to repeat the same mistakes, especially since the S&P 500 could continue correction, no matter who wins. The main source of uncertainty is Donald Trump’s willingness to challenge election results. As of October 31, nearly 90 million Americans already have cast their ballots, which is over 65% of the total votes from 2016. Donald accuses the Democrats of election fraud.
Uncertainty makes investors buy safe-haven assets. However, when the Treasuries are being sold off, investors tend to buy the US dollar. Besides, the growing yield-gap between U.S. and German government bonds sends the EURUSD down as well.

Dynamics of U.S.-Germany 10-year yield gap

Source: Bloomberg
Investors are selling the euro off amid the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Europe and the introduction of new restrictions by the euro-area governments. Although the euro-area economy grew by 12.7% and outperformed the U.S. growth in the third quarter, everything can radically change in the fourth quarter. The median estimate of 18 Financial Times experts suggests that the euro-area GDP will contract by 2.3% in October-December. At the same time, Oxford Economics predicts that the United States will expand by 3% over the same period. Divergence in economic growth sends the EURUSD down. Furthermore, there is also a divergence in monetary policies.

Dynamics of GDP

Source: Wall Street Journal
The ECB is willing to boost the monetary stimulus in December. 59% of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg believe that the Fed, on the contrary, won’t expand the assets purchases until the end of 2021. Working directly with the Federal Reserve, large banks do not expect any QE changes until the middle of next year.

Weekly EURUSD trading plan

Under such conditions, the EURUSD is likely to continue falling towards 1.16 and 1.154-1.156. The absence of the “blue wave” and/or Donald Trump’s rejection of the election results will suggest a deeper correction down.

Dollar's farewell performance. Review as of 30.10.2020

Dollar's farewell performance. Review as of 30.10.2020
What is good for the greenback is good for Trump. Does the current White House tenant have a chance to keep his chair?

Can the USD index's rise right before the election be a tribute to retiring Trump?

Those Americans are so strange: less than a week is left, and they still don't know who will be the president! Financial markets appear not to understand that either. The S&P 500's fall on the eve of the election indicates that the party in power's candidate will lose. The ratings indicate the same, but the US dollar is growing by leaps and bounds, while investors know: what is good for the greenback is good for Donald Trump. Can the Republican still have a chance? Or is it the USD's farewell performance for Trump?

https://preview.redd.it/05ez9n4828w51.jpg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eab79fbf5beec7a869becfef8bb8197116dc1b96
Even if we forget about the pandemic and trade wars, we'll see that a weak dollar has run all through Trump's presidency. The US' 45th president did his best to weaken the greenback, accusing China and Europe of manipulating their currencies, asking the Fed to cut rates and revive QE, and calling Jerome Powell the USA's main enemy.
In the end, things didn't go the way Trump wanted. The USD index was consolidating stably from the beginning of 2018 and up to May 2020. The strong economy helped the Fed raise rates several times, which other central banks couldn't afford. Tax cuts and deregulation became a boon for US companies and the whole stock market. That drove capital to the USA and strengthened the dollar. The trading war slowed global trading down, cut the euro's rate, and boosted demand for safe-haven assets. The greenback won all the same.

https://preview.redd.it/0p75min828w51.jpg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c833d6501df48d672fecb6b4f1340304394b0ff3
The US' 45th president will enter history books as a man who spoiled everything and as a man who first speaks and then thinks. His attempts to describe things better than they are make everybody smile and make him lose his authority. Trust is like paper: once creased, it's hard to smooth it out. Trump called the US' Q3 GDP growth "best in history" and said the year 2021 would be fantastic. However, Sleepy Biden's tax hike may "kill it all"! In fact, the US economy is now 3.5% worse than at the beginning of 2019. To get back to the previous figures, it needs to expand 15% in Q4, which is practically impossible. The current president is to be blamed for that too, as anti-pandemic measures weren't taken in good time. People say a clever man admits his faults, a cunning man blames others, and a stupid man is proud of them. Sounds true.
The key-note of Donald Trump's presidency was looking for a scapegoat. It was either China or Jerome Powell. The president's opponents would keep silent, understanding what consequences return criticism may have. Joe Biden won't keep silent. He says recovery is slowing down or even standing still, while the current high GDP value doesn't help millions of ordinary Americans who have lost their jobs.

What frightens me the most is that the new US president is neither Trump nor Biden...but Alzheimer!

Dollar checks its watch. Analysis as of 22.10.2020
The markets have been obsessed with fiscal stimulus recently, but the demand for European bonds may push EURUSD to the north if the ECB expands the bond-buying programme on 29 October. Let’s discuss that and make a trading plan.

Weekly fundamental forecast for dollar

In the financial markets, time is as important a factor as a price direction. Many traders would lose their money having chosen a wrong moment for making a trade, even though an asset’s price direction was predicted correctly. It is believed that fiscal stimulus will weaken the US dollar as stocks will grow, global risk appetite will increase, and demand for safe-haven assets will fall. The question is: will the economic support be provided before or after the elections? In the latter case, Donald Trump’s unwillingness to recognize voting results will support uncertainty and the greenback.
According to economic adviser Larry Kudlow, the stimulus talks are going really well, and both the economy and the market will profit if a deal is made within the next two weeks. At the same time, the Republicans don’t accept the prospective amount of $1.9 trillion. Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi believes, a deal will be signed in spite of the Republicans’ resistance, but admits it may happen only after the elections.
An extra support before the election would give Trump and the USD extra points. That’s why the dollar’s weakness and the S&P 500’s fall mean the markets are doubting that the Congress will approve of the Democrats’ package before Joe Biden takes the president’s chair.

Unlike fiscal stimulus, the US elections have already been scheduled. At the same time, the Blue Wave may raise the S&P 500 in the short term, and weaken the greenback, with a subsequent correction. On the other hand, the markets are overconfident about the Democrats’ victory, which shows itself in lower volatility at Forex. In 2016, Hillary Clinton was on the top of ratings, but it was Trump who opened a bottle of champaign. If he is re-elected unexpectedly, investors should consider selling the AUDUSD and buying the USDCNH amid a risk of US-China trade war resumption.

Weekly trading plan for EURUSD

The QE programme extension period is a question of time too. If that happens at the ECB’s meeting on 29 October, we can develop a trading strategy of buying the EURUSD as the quotes will fall amid weak statistics on Germany’s and the eurozone’s business activity, and fixing profits after the Executive Board’s meeting. Such a strategy is based on high demand for periphery countries’ bonds. The price for them will grow if QE gets extended. The problem is, the ECB may not take that step at the end of October.
I think that such factors as Joe Biden’s victory and a capital flow from the US debt market to Europe may raise EURUSD quotes despite the second pandemic wave and the eurozone’s economic weakness. Wait for data on Europe’s PMI to make a decision about medium-term trades. Until then, focus on intraday trading with narrow targets.

Dollar is getting high on politics. Forecast as of 14.10.2020

Fundamental US dollar forecast today

The optimism about the ‘blue wave’ prospects in the US, when democrats take control of the White House and Congress and boost the US fiscal stimulus, is gradually being replaced by skepticism. The Republicans may not lose the majority in the Senate. If so, the disputes about the financial aid package could continue after November 3. Does it make sense to buy stocks? The S&P 500 has dropped. The People’s Bank of China is willing to weaken the yuan. Speculators are existing record euro longs. Under the above conditions, the EURUSD fell below the support 1.178 earlier indicated.
The bets on Joe Biden’s victory are bets against the US dollar. However, this fact alone is not enough. If Democrats fail to control the Congress, the Republicans will oppose the new president just like their opponents did in 2017 when Donald Trump tried to carry out the tax and the medical reforms. Or like it was in 2020 when the White House offers a stimulus package, and the House rejects it. After the US election is over, continuous political uncertainty should support safe-havens, including the US dollar.
Investors wonder what will be after November 3. I don’t think the bet on the growing gap between the US and the euro-area economies should stop working soon. According to San Francisco Fed president Mary C. Daly, the US economy is strong and should withstand a new storm. At the same time, investor confidence in Germany's GDP rebound has fallen to the lowest level over the past five months. The number of COVID-19 cases in Germany has reached 6500, the highest value since April’s peak.

Dynamics of Germany’s economic sentiment

Source: Bloomberg
The expectations are also pressed down by the International Monetary Fund. The IMF has revised the US GDP forecast for 2020 up to -4.3%, from the previous gauge of 8%. The forecast for the euro-area economy has been raised from -10.2% to -8.3%. According to the IMF, the global GDP will contract this year not by 5.2%, projected in June, but by 4.4%. The recession has been mitigated by huge stimulus packages provided by the world’s central banks and governments and the rebound of China’s economy. According to the IMF, China’s economy has already reached the level of 2019 and will exceed it by 1.9 at the end of 2020. In 2021, the Chinese GDP should reach 8.2%.

GDP forecasts

Investors also doubt that the Fed’s monetary expansion is more aggressive than that of the ECB. According to Bloomberg's research, the European Central Bank is buying more assets within the QE than needed to cover the euro-area budget deficit. So, the ECB monetary expansion seems to be more aggressive than the Fed’s.

EURUSD trading plan today

So, the bet on the divergence in the economic expansion and monetary policy may not work after the US presidential election. Speculators are exiting the euro longs, and the EURUSD is going down towards 1.1715 and 1.1625. Hold down short trades entered at level 1.178.

Message to all of my followers:

Hope everyone is having a good ass day today. This might be long. Please upvote so others are more likely to see in their feeds.
I have really wanted to start sharing my other forms of trading with you guys. I trade forex and did well this week betting on usd strength against the safe haven currency Japanese yen.
I’m also invested at $2,200 into a crypto currency called cindicator. I have 392,197 shares. Trying to get to 700,000 for access to their highest tier of trading indicators. I’ve followed this company for a long ass time and their product is great. If the price gets back to its high of $0.37, it’s a 6,959% profit for me. I’m expecting it to hit AT LEAST a dollar during this next bull run due to cnd/btc charts. Crypto currencies are similar to pennystocks in their volatility.
I also have very good evidence that bitcoin is about to start moving up very rapidly. The halving event that pushed it up to $20,000 just happened again two weeks ago. I and probably everyone else are expecting $100,000 bitcoin by October 2021 due to bitcoin stock to flow model. That indicator was designed by some billion dollar hedge fund manager and its accuracy is something I’ve never seen before. Please read the bottom half where it explains how that indicator works. Truly impressive.
I’m also learning how to trade SPY options, and I just made my first winning trade after a week of losing by buying SPY 298c 5/29
So my question is, are you interested in learning other forms of trading? By order of difficulty, we’d start with crypto currency. Mainly bitcoin and a handful of others. It’s pretty straightforward until you get into cold storage. Then forex which is complicated, and options further down the line after I understand them fully. Or if the consensus is forex or options, we’ll start there.
My main goal in Reddit is to make you guys better traders/ investors. One of my next personal goals is to get my series 7 and 65 licenses and do this shit professionally.
I’ve done the math, and if my average return in forex at ~10% per month stays consistent, managing $5,000,000 in client money and charging 20% would mean I make $80,000 a month. I’m currently building my trading history on Oanda as the first step in this process. So if you start seeing me in suits and ties on my streams, you’ll know what’s up.
Let me know if you’re interested. I’m not sure how I would do it. Maybe just include [BTC] in my headlines about crypto currency stuff when I post so that it’s easy to skim over for those not interested. I don’t want to start an isolated subreddit or anything like that.

It doesn’t have that laser-accurate performance as in trading bitcoin you can never guarantee the minimum amount of profit you be earning the other day. Its what happens when trading with Forex

Undoubtedly, most of the revealing sites have the only supportive argument beginning with, ‘As the review suggests’. Do raise yourselves, is that this the legitimate way to prove legitimacy ofBitQT
They too argue regarding the legitimate verification method. That’s the explanation why there’s a number of complaints with reference to the current. If these products would have really worked, why not each single person select to remain off from their offices integrating with it somehow:

Money Forex Cluster scamThe Cash Forex Group is run by a company named CFxG which allegedly was founded by a team of experts in all kinds of areas, mainly education in the monetary trading field and network promoting.

https://preview.redd.it/0gc7ga9f1pm51.jpg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c031ac047e635c47d3ee592ab9235878613c890
These experts and their automated trading system will supposedly facilitate your to form heaps of cash. In trading solely you'll allegedly make fifteenp.c weekly on your investments. Then there are referral programs and multi-level structures that can boost your income even more. Is that t
Money FX Group scamLet’s begin this Money Forex Group review by stating the obvious, this scheme may be a total scam, you just have to look at the numbers.BitQT

When they promise you fifteen%+ weekly, it means that 60percent+ monthly, which is totally ridiculous in the important world. It means a lot of than 560zeropercent per year, therefore you'd need solely $18,00zero greenbacks to become a millionaire within year. And this is often plain impossible.

No legitimate business can create you a gradual fifteenpercent weekly, no financial markets are that predictable and that easy to trade. It may appear straightforward to you, but it really is this straightforward, a program promising fifteenp.c weekly should be a scam, there is no alternative method, the Money FX Group is a scam.

However there is additional to go through in this review.
Massive lies

Money FX Cluster testimonialThe Money Forex Cluster claims to be regulated by the subsequent institutions: FAC – Financial Conduct Authority of London, DFSA – Monetary Services Authority in Dubai, FSCA – Monetary Sector Conduct Authority of South Africa and FSA – the Monetary Services Authority of Seychelles.

But guess what, the FAC will not even exist, while the others (DFSA, FSCA and FSA) haven't issued any license whatsoever to Cash Forex Cluster. Therefore not only Money FX Group is not regulated at all, it conjointly is lying huge time regarding its regulatory status.

The fact is that it's no license whatsoever, so it cannot supply investment services legally in most countries.

This is often conjointly why they want you to deposit cryptocurrencies, they wish to remain as anonymous as potential, so that they will run away along with your cash.
Regulatory warning

Not long when we have a tendency to printed our analysis, the Financial Conduct Authority (financial regulator in Nice Britain) came up with its own warning.

The regulator said that CashFX is providing investment services without the mandatory authorization and advised the public to remain off from it. This is often a very serious argumentBiTQT.

It'd be terribly unwise to deposit money with an unregulated and basically anonymous entity, as a result of it would not be protected in any means. No matter where the cash finally ends up, this program is promising you impossible returns on investments, which in itself confirms that something is wrong.
How it works

Let’s end this Cash Forex Group review by explaining the essential principle of this investment program. It's a Ponzi theme that does no real economic activity. It just collects money from individuals and may pay out some profits, but the most recent clients’ deposits can be used for that.

This will have an inevitable outcome, the system can sooner or later crumble. It's simply a matter of your time when there can be not enough deposits to hide withdrawals and also the inevitable end can

Nobody has not been paid, that is NOBODY ….. after all you can't compound or upgrade your CFX account unless you withdraw (get paid) …. CFX are not regulated…. as a result of they use a Regulated broker (everfx) to trade…so that information is also incorrect…and judging by the actual members comments….I’d say, members are happy….. long might that continue. BUT, you must never place in more than you are prepared to lose (In SOMETHING). However do correct analysis, ask

members, don’t rely on people that play safe and stay poor. Do your own due diligence. (ps MOST sites that decision each business out as a scam…have their own links…..promoting guess what ? ….tip. SCAMS ! Beware.

Statistical Edge Trading

Statistical Edge Trading

Statistical Edge Trading

Have you ever traded with statistical edge? Our Allen trade talks about backing up the trading network and leveraging it from excellent newspapering. This is a stage that is undermined by many traders but fairly, it can be a crucial factor in boosting your trust and believing in your system. For those interested in this sort of research, you can check out the FTMO Statistical Application.
Trading with a Statistical edge
Although many traders back-test and record their trades to verify the trading system 's feasibility, monitoring and using the data to maximize both your stop loss and profit goal is a tremendous advantage. Two of the most critical pieces of data that I record when reporting trades is the drawdown and the benefit potential.

The drawdown, to be sure, is how far a trade goes against my place before it goes in my favour.

Whereas the benefit potential is the maximum distance from my entry which the trade moves in my favor. It isn't important and it's uncommon, in general, that I actually exit the trade. Yet definitely coming out at or as close as can be.
Firstly, I record my trades in two ways, using screenshots of the charts themselves where I annotate my entry, date, type of trade and all other relevant details related to my methodology, such as strength and weakness analysis , multiple time frame analysis and correlation. I also note on the map the drawdown and benefit potential of the trade.

Then I go through my Excel spreadsheet with main details. See "excel" below.

Excel spreadsheet with main details.

This includes the date, day, session, pair, time, route, entry price, closing price, type of setup, type of entry, type of exit, drawdown, potential for benefit and outcome. I then let excel do all the heavy lifting for myself as I can sort my trades numerous ways, by day, by session, by pair, by route, by type of set-up etc.

But where the really cool stuff is under the "Mind-blowing stats" tab where I have some of the above filterable statistics that will help me to optimize both my stop loss and my benefit goal.

Here is a summary of the specification.

When you use a risk percentage account to calculate your position size (as you should), so the lower the pause, the larger a position size you will trade in. The stop must, therefore, have a high likelihood of remaining. The vast majority of trading books, guides, videos, etc., advise that after a recent high / low swing, the stop will be many pips.

But my trade documents helped me to come up with a statistical advantage for my stoppage placement.

As can be seen in the "Drawdown" tag, Trading my Type 1 BO (breakout out) on GBPAUD, 79.55 percent of the time my drawdown was less than 25 pips, although it was just 81.82 percent at 30 pips and 84.09 percent at 35 pips.

Statistical Edge Trading
So when using a larger pause, an extra loss or 2, the advantage of having a greater size of the place and thereby netting more money makes the extra loss(s) inconsequential.

Furthermore, the income goal can also be optimized.

Looking at the "Profit Potential" connection and remaining on GBPAUD again for my Type 1 BO trades, we can easily see that almost 80 percent of the time, those trades get between 20 and 30 pips.

Statistical Edge Trading (b)
It is a perfect place to take off 1/2 of the spot and push the stop to flat. So we can let the rest of the half run to about 50 pips where 59.09 percent of the trades touch.

Obviously market conditions aren't always the same, so if you can recognise when they are, i.e. linked moves or strengthening or weakening other classes (commodity pairs or safe haven pairs), then you can make educated decisions about how far a trade will go.

Statistical Edge Trading (meme)

I hope this information 's helpful to you.

Since I angered some Chads on /r/investing here's why I think China is the next "big short".

Fellow idiots,
I posted this comment which seems to have angered the highly sophisticated /investing community. I don't mind being downvoted but at least provide some counter arguments if you're going to be a dick. So in the pursuit of truth and tendies for all, I have prepared some juicy due diligence (DD) for WSB Capital on why China is on the verge of collapse.
TL;DR at the bottom.
Point 1: Defaults in China have been accelerating aggressively, and through July 2019, 274 real estate developers filed for bankruptcy, up 50% over last year. A bonus? Many Chinese state controlled banks have been filing for bankruptcy as well. Just google "china bank defaults" or something similar. Notice how many articles there are from 2019? When the banking system fails, everything else usually fails too.
Point 2: The RMB has depreciated significantly. Last time this happened, in 2015-2016, there was a significant outflow of foreign invested capital. According to the IIF, outflows reached $725bn due to the currency depreciation.. This time is different why again? I have heard some arguments why there will be less outflow this time, but I struggle to buy them.
Point 3: Despite wanting to operate like a developed economy, China still has not been able to shrug off the middle income trap. Their GDP per capita is comparable to countries we normally associated with being developing/emerging markets. Tangentially related to point 10.
Point 4: China is an export-dependent economy, with about 20% of their exports contributing towards their GDP. Less exporting means less GDP, less consumption (because businesses make less money, they pay people less, who in turn spend less), which has a greater effect on GDP than any declines in exports would have at face value. Guess what? Chinese exports dropped 1% in August, and August imports dropped -1%, marking the 5th month this year of negative m/m export growth..
Point 5: Business confidence has been weak in China - declining at a sustained pace worse than in 2015. When businesses feel worse, they spend less, invest less in fixed assets, hire less until they feel better about the future. Which takes me to my next point.
Point 6: Fixed asset investment in China has declined 30 percentage points since 2010. While rates are low, confidence is also low, and they are sitting on a record amount of leverage, which means they simply will not be able to afford additional investment.
Point 7: They are an extremely levered economy with a total debt to GDP ratio of over 300%, per the IIF, which also accounts for roughly 15% of global total fucking debt. Here's an interview with someone else talking about it too.
Point 8: Their central bank recently introduced a metric fuckton of stimulus into their economy. This will encourage more borrowing....add fuel to the fire. Moreover, the stimulus will mechanically likely weaken the RMB even more, which could lead to even more foreign outflows, which are already happening, see next point.
Point 9: Fucking LOTS of outflows this year. As of MAY, according to this joint statement, around 40% of US companies are relocating some portion of their supply chains away from mainland. This was in May. Since May, we have seen even more tariffs imposed, why WOULD companies want to stay when exporting to the US is a lot more expensive now?
Point 10: Ignoring ALL of the points above, we are in a global synchronized slowdown, with many emerging market central banks cutting rates - by the most in a decade. Investors want safety, and safe-haven denominated assets are where we have seen a lot of flocking into recently. Things that can be considered safe-havens have good liquidity, a relatively stable economy, and a predictable political environment.
Would love to hear opposing thoughts if you think China is a good buy. I am not against China, nor any other country for that matter, but I am against losing money (yes, wrong sub etc.), and I can not rationalize why anyone would be putting in a bid.
TL;DR: the bubble is right in front of your face, impending doom ahead, short everything, fuck /investing.
Edit, since you 'tards keep asking me how to trade this, there are a few trades that come to mind:

Thoughts On The Market Series #1 - The New Normal?

Market Outlook: What to Make of This “New Normal”

By ****\*
March 16, 2020
After an incredibly volatile week – which finished with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rallying over 9% on Friday – I suppose my readers might expect me to be quite upbeat about the markets.
Unfortunately, I persist in my overall pessimistic outlook for stocks, and for the economy in general. Friday’s rally essentially negated Thursday’s sell-off, but I don’t expect it to be the start of a sustained turnaround.
We’re getting a taste of that this morning, with the Dow opening down around 7%.
This selloff is coming on the back of an emergency interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve of 100 basis points (to 0%-0.25%) on Sunday… along with the announcement of a new quantitative easing program of $700 billion. (I will write about this further over the next several days.)
As I have been writing for many weeks, the financial bubble – which the Fed created by pumping trillions of dollars into the financial system – has popped. It will take some time for the bubble to deflate to sustainable levels.
Today I’ll walk you through what’s going on in the markets and the economy… what I expect going forward and why… and what it means for us as traders. (You’ll see it’s not all bad news.)

Coronavirus’ Strain on the Global Economy

To start, let’s put things in perspective: This asset deflation was coming one way or another. Covid19 (or coronavirus) has simply accelerated the process.
Major retailers are closing, tourism is getting crushed, universities and schools are sending students home, conventions, sporting events, concerts, and other public gatherings have been cancelled, banks and other financial service firms are going largely virtual, and there has been a massive loss of wealth.
Restaurant data suggests that consumer demand is dropping sharply, and the global travel bans will only worsen the situation.
Commercial real estate is another sector that looks particularly vulnerable. We are almost certain to see a very sharp and pronounced economic slowdown here in the United States, and elsewhere. In fact, I expect a drop of at least 5% of GDP over the next two quarters, which is quite severe by any standard.
Sure, when this cycle is complete, there will be tremendous amounts of pent-up demand by consumers, but for the time being, the consumer is largely on the sidelines.
Of course, the problems aren’t just in the U.S. China’s numbers look awful. In fact, the government there may have to “massage” their numbers a bit to show a positive GDP in the first quarter. Europe’s numbers will also look dreadful, and South Korea’s economy has been hit badly.
All around the world, borders are being shut, all non-essential businesses are being closed, and people in multiple countries are facing a lockdown of historic proportions. The coronavirus is certainly having a powerful impact, and it looks certain that its impact will persist for a while.
Consider global tourism. It added almost $9 trillion to the global economy in 2018, and roughly 320 million jobs. This market is in serious trouble.
Fracking in the U.S. is another business sector that is in a desperate situation. Millions of jobs and tens of billions of loans are now in jeopardy.
The derivative businesses that this sector supports will be likewise devastated as companies are forced to reduce their workforces or shut down due to the collapse in oil prices. This sector’s suffering will probably force banks to book some big losses despite attempts by the government to support this industry.
In a similar way, the derivative businesses that are supported by the universities and colleges across America are going to really suffer.
There are nearly 20 million students in colleges across the U.S. When they go home for spring vacation and do not return, the effect on the local businesses that colleges and university populations support will be devastating.
What does this “new normal” mean going forward? Let’s take a look…

New Normal

The new normal may become increasingly unpleasant for us. We need to be ready to hunker down for quite some time.
Beyond that, the government needs to handle this crisis far better in the future.
The level of stupidity associated with the massive throngs of people trapped in major airports yesterday, for example, was almost unimaginable.
Instead of facilitating the reduction of social contact and halting the further spread of the coronavirus, the management of the crowds at the airports produced a perfect breeding ground for the spread of the virus.
My guess is that more draconian travel restrictions will be implemented soon, matching to some extent the measures taken across Europe.
This will in turn have a further dampening effect on economic activity in the U.S., putting more and more pressure on the Fed and the government to artificially support a rapidly weakening economy.
Where does this end up? It is too early to say, but a very safe bet is that we will have some months of sharply negative growth. Too many sectors of the economy are going to take a hit to expect anything else.
The Fed has already driven interest rates to zero. Will that help? Unlikely. In fact, as I mentioned at the beginning of this update, the markets are voting with a resounding NO.
The businesses that are most affected by the current economic situation will still suffer. Quantitative easing is hardly a cure-all. In fact, it has been one of the reasons that we have such a mess in our markets today.
The markets have become addicted to the easy money, so more of the same will have little or no impact. We will need real economic demand, not an easier monetary policy.
It won’t help support tourism, for example, or the other sectors getting smashed right now. The government will need to spend at least 5% of GDP, or roughly $1 trillion, to offset the weakness I see coming.
Is it surprising that the Fed and the government take emergency steps to try to stabilize economic growth? Not at all. This is essentially what they have been doing for a long time, so it is completely consistent with their playbook.
Next, I would anticipate the government implementing some massive public-works and infrastructure programs over the coming months. That would be very helpful, and almost certainly quite necessary.
But there’s a problem with this kind of intervention from the government…

What Happens When You Eliminate the Business Cycle

The Fed’s foolish attempt to eliminate business cycles is a significant contributing factor to the volatility we are currently experiencing.
Quantitative easing is nothing more than printing lots and lots of money to support a weak economy and give the appearance of growth and prosperity. In fact, it is a devaluation of the currency’s true buying power.
That in turn artificially drives up the prices of other assets, such as stocks, real estate and gold – but it does not create true wealth. That only comes with non-inflationary growth of goods and services and associated increases in economic output.
Inflation is the government’s way to keep people thinking they are doing better.
To that point: We have seen some traditional safe-haven assets getting destroyed during this time of risk aversion. That has certainly compounded the problems of many investors.
Gold is a great example. As the stock market got violently slammed, people were forced to come up with cash to support their losing positions. Gold became a short-term source of liquidity as people sold their gold holdings in somewhat dramatic fashion. It was one of the few holdings of many people that was not dramatically under water, so people sold it.
The move may have seemed perverse, particularly to people who bought gold as a safe-haven asset, but in times of crisis, all assets tend to become highly correlated, at least short term.
We saw a similar thing happen with long yen exposures and long Bitcoin exposures recently.
The dollar had its strongest one-day rally against the yen since November 2016 as people were forced to sell huge amounts of yen to generate liquidity. Many speculators had made some nice profits recently as the dollar dropped sharply from 112 to 101.30, but they have been forced to book whatever profits they had in this position. Again, this was due to massive losses elsewhere in their portfolios.
Is the yen’s sell-off complete? If it is not complete, it is probably at least close to an attractive level for Japanese investors to start buying yen against a basket of currencies. The major supplies of yen have largely been taken off the table for now.
For example, the yen had been a popular funding currency for “carry” plays. People were selling yen and buying higher-yielding currencies to earn the interest rate difference between the liability currency (yen) and the funding currency (for example, the U.S. dollar).
Carry plays are very unpopular in times of great uncertainty and volatility, however, so that supply of yen will be largely gone for quite some time. Plus, the yield advantage of currencies such as the U.S. dollar, Canadian dollar, and Australian dollar versus the yen is nearly gone.
In addition, at the end of the Japanese fiscal year , there is usually heavy demand for yen as Japanese corporations need to bring home a portion of their overseas holdings for balance sheet window dressing. I don’t expect that pressure to be different this year.
Just as the safe-haven assets of yen and gold got aggressively sold, Bitcoin also got hammered. It was driven by a similar theme – people had big losses and they needed to produce liquidity quickly. Selling Bitcoin became one of the sources of that liquidity.

Heavy Price Deflation Ahead

Overall, there is a chance that this scenario turns into something truly ugly, with sustained price deflation across many parts of the economy. We will certainly have price deflation in many sectors, at least on a temporary basis.
Why does that matter over the long term?
Price deflation is the most debilitating economic development in a society that is debt-laden – like the U.S. today. Prices of assets come down… and the debt becomes progressively bigger and bigger.
The balance sheet of oil company Chesapeake Energy is a classic example. It’s carrying almost $10 billion worth of debt… versus a market cap of only about $600 million. Talk about leverage! When the company had a market cap of $10 billion, that debt level didn’t appear so terrifying.
Although this is an extreme example for illustrative purposes, the massive debt loads of China would seem more and more frightening if we were to sink into flat or negative growth cycles for a while. The government’s resources are already being strained, and it can artificially support only so many failing companies.
The U.S. has gigantic levels of debt as well, but it has the advantage of being the world’s true hegemon, and the U.S. dollar is the world’s reserve currency. This creates a tremendous amount of leverage and power in financing its debt.
The U.S. has been able to impose its will on its trading partners to trade major commodities in dollars. This has created a constant demand for the dollar that offsets, to a large extent, the massive trade deficit that the U.S. runs.
For example, if a German company wants to buy oil, then it needs to hold dollars. This creates a constant demand for dollar assets.
In short, the dollar’s status as the true global reserve currency is far more important than most people realize. China does not hold this advantage.

What to Do Now

In terms of how to position ourselves going forward, I strongly recommend that people continue with a defensive attitude regarding stocks. There could be a lot more downside to come. Likewise, we could see some panic selling in other asset classes.
The best thing right now is to be liquid and patient, ready to pounce on special opportunities when they present themselves.
For sure, there will be some exceptional opportunities, but it is too early to commit ourselves to just one industry. These opportunities could come in diverse sectors such as commercial real estate, hospitality, travel and leisure, and others.
As for the forex markets, the volatility in the currencies is extreme, so we are a bit cautious.
I still like the yen as a safe-haven asset. I likewise still want to sell the Australian dollar, the New Zealand dollar, and the Canadian dollar as liability currencies.
Why? The Bank of Canada, the Reserve Bank of Australia, and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand have all taken aggressive steps recently, slashing interest rates. These currencies are all weak, and they will get weaker.
Finding an ideal entry for a trade, however, is tricky. Therefore, we are being extra careful with our trading. We always prioritize the preservation of capital over generating profits, and we will continue with this premise.
At the same time, volatility in the markets is fantastic for traders. We expect many excellent opportunities to present themselves over the coming days and weeks as prices get driven to extreme levels and mispricings appear. So stay tuned.

Forex in August: market getting ahead of itself?

Forex in August: market getting ahead of itself?

Fundamental forecast for Forex currencies for August

Selling the U.S. dollar as a safe-haven asset may have gone too far

To say that July was successful for fans of statistical analysis with a fundamental perspective is an understatement! Selling USD/NOK and USD/SEK has increased the deposit by a total of 10.1%, buying Australian and Canadian dollars against the American dollar has increased it by 4.5%. The Norwegian krone managed to simply hold out against the hugely popular euro, while the Swedish krona gained 1.5% against it. Indeed, Vikings are on the warpath! It will be all the more interesting to observe the influence of the seasonal factor on the exchange rates in Forex at the end of the summer.
The Japanese yen and the Swiss franc usually feel the best in August, strengthening in 26 and 25 cases respectively out of 45. The clear outsiders were the Australian and New Zealand dollars, as well as the British pound, which finished two last months of the summer in 1975-2019 in the red zone.

Yen, Swiss franc benefit as dollar falls on U.S.-China conflict and economic fears

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 62%. (I'm a bot)
London - The dollar fell on Monday, after reaching its lowest since September 2018 overnight, as deteriorating U.S.-China relations and concerns about the U.S. economy saw investors look to the yen and Swiss franc as safe havens.
With domestic economic concerns trumping its role as a safe-haven currency, the dollar index fell overnight, steadied in the early hours of the morning, then continued its descent.
At 1058 GMT, the dollar index was at 93.777, down 0.6% on the day =USD. As COVID-19 infections show no signs of slowing in the U.S., investors are doubtful of a quick economic recovery.
With the dollar's role as safe haven in question, the Japanese yen and Swiss franc strengthened, suggesting that investors are seeking safety elsewhere.
Versus the dollar, the Swiss franc reached a five-year high of 0.9167 overnight CHF=EBS. The dollar lost 0.8% against the yen, which strengthened to a four-month high of 105.265 JPY=EBS. "Under a general dollar sell-off environment the yen is benefiting as a safe-haven currency," said Neil Jones, head of FX sales at Mizuho, adding that month-end flows were also playing a role.
"Markets are potentially looking for risk aversion currencies, and this seems to be a discretionary switch away from dollar into the yen and the Swiss franc," he said.

Financial Markets Show Mixed Performance As Economy Reopens

Across all financial markets, there are early signs that an economic recovery is slowly underway. Lockdown conditions are finally easing, and across the globe, people are getting back to work and business is resuming as usual.
Major corporations can get back to serving shareholder interests, and demand will return to commodities that saw interest dry up but supply pile. This ray of hope has given investors and traders much to look forward to, as even despite the recovery, overall volatility and trading volumes continue to run high.
Risk, however, remains a dark cloud hanging over markets ready to strike like lightning and set things ablaze once again. The last time the market panicked was on Black Thursday and market participants are still left reeling from the record-breaking selloff.
But until fear, uncertainty, or doubt spills over again, the market looks poised for further upside and at the very least, continued opportunity around every corner.
Safe Haven Forex Currencies Falter Due To Monetary Policy
The United States dollar and Japanese yen have fared well compared to other national currencies due to their safe haven like qualities.
USD remains the global reserve currency, and its strength often determines the performance of other markets across the globe. However, US monetary policy has been under the microscope lately, and increasing tensions between the US and China has caused the USD to weaken as a result.
Unemployment rates in the country have reached the worst levels since the Great Recession, consumer spending is at an extreme low, and the Federal Reserve continues to grow its balance sheet by trillions to prevent the superpower from faltering from its leadership position.
GBP had been gaining against USD, but recent comments from Brexit caused a short term pullback. However, there’s already been a recovery.

Cause of volatility

I believe stock market volume directly impacts volume in FX. During major stock corrections day traders and many other investors will stay out of equities until the market bottom is realized. This drop in volume corresponds with dramatic rise in volume in currency markets. There reverse is true as well. Once FX markets reach extreme disequilibrium (unsustainable, large, one way tends)... Traders understand a correction is needed and thus flood back into equities.
Which comes first the chicken or the egg? Does FX opportunity cause people to leave equities to trade Forex? Or was it the obvious bubble in equities that made traders want to seek safe haven in FX? Now the opposite is true. Extreme discount inequities will be too attractive to ignore and FX markets have went too far, too fast...
I predict FX volatility to return to normal and equity prices to rise in the near future.

Dollar edges higher as Hong Kong tensions fuel safe-haven demand

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 64%. (I'm a bot)
TOKYO - The dollar edged higher on Monday as worries about a standoff between the United States and China over civil liberties in Hong Kong fuelled demand for safe-haven currencies.
A senior White House official has said Beijing's plan to impose a security law on the former British colony of Hong Kong could lead to U.S. sanctions, which could worsen an already tense relationship between the world's two-largest economies.
"Things were already bad, and it is likely to get worse because of the Hong Kong security law. This supports risk-off trades, which is positive for the dollar and the yen."
China's proposed national security legislation for Hong Kong could lead to U.S. sanctions and threaten the city's status as a financial hub, White House National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien said on Sunday.
Hong Kong police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse thousands of people who rallied on Sunday to protest Beijing's national security law.
The threat of sanctions over Hong Kong risks a repeat of last year's damaging trade war between the United States and China.

What’s going on with CHF?

I wrote this post yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/Forex/comments/fe43t2/if_you_need_an_understanding_as_to_why_eurusd_has/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I just wanted to give a quick macro view on CHF.
If you take a look at a chart of EURCHF, you’ll see that it’s trading right at support.
This level tends to be where the Swiss National Bank intervenes in the market - and intervene they have been.
Just last week, the SNB increased sight deposits (reserves held at the SNB) by 3.5bn.
The week previous, this was 2.1bn.
Why have they done this?
Well, the SNB has been a massive investor in US equities.
Here’s there portfolio as of 31/12/2019: https://m.holdingschannel.com/13f/swiss-national-bank-top-holdings/
Yes they were selling well before the actual sell off started...
But what happens when they sell their equities holdings?
They have to repatriate to CHF - but there’s a dilemma...
They need a weaker CHF, so now they start buying foreign currencies to depreciate the value of the Franc.
The problem is that many see the Franc as a safe haven, so pile into it.
This is why we’re currently seeing EURCHF remain fairly balanced at support - there’s a battle going on between the Swiss National Bank and risk off investors.
So from here, you can build a macro trading plan.
Do we think that the Swiss National Bank can defend against euro weakness enough?
What might the ignition to the EURCHF sell off be?
My thoughts are that we look to the banking sector where it is over exposed to emerging markets currently under pressure (Turkey namely).
For example, German banks have a mere 0.3% return on assets - that is not sufficient and its likely that capital regulations (Basel) are going to be shown up to be highly flawed.
Just some more nollege.
