(WSVN) - Below is a list of what will be open and closed in South Florida as we monitor Hurricane Irma. This list will be updated as information becomes available.
Schools
Miami-Dade County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All extracurricular activities and night school classes will be cancelled beginning Wednesday. Broward County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Monroe County schools will be closed on Wednesday until further notice. Palm Beach County School District will close schools on Thursday and Friday. The Archdiocese of Miami will close all elementary and high schools in Miami-Dade and Broward counties on Thursday and Friday. Belen Jesuit Preparatory School will be closed Thursday and Friday. All after-school and extended day programs will be cancelled, as well. American Heritage School will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All after-school and evening activities will be cancelled on these days, as well. Miami Country Day School will be closed from Wednesday through Friday. Basilica School of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Key West will be closed from Wednesday through Monday. Alexander Montessori Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The Sept. 9 ACT test has been cancelled due to Hurricane Irma AcadeMir Charter Schools and AcadeMir Preschools will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Ransom Everglades School will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All activities from Thursday through the weekend are cancelled, as well. Scheck Hillel Community School will be closed Thursday and Friday. All after-school afternoon and evening programs Wednesday through Friday have been cancelled, as well. La Scuola’s Sunset and Cutler Bay campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday. Calusa Preparatory School will be closed Thursday and Friday. Pine Crest Preparatory School’s Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday. All afternoon activities have been cancelled Wednesday through Friday. Colleges
Miami-Dade College will cancel classes and cease all operations Thursday through Sunday. All special events have also been cancelled. Florida International University will cancel all classes, including online classes, starting Tuesday at 11 p.m. through the weekend. The university will be closed starting Thursday. All special events on campus, including the Saturday football game, are cancelled. The University of Miami will cancel classes at its Coral Gables and Marine campuses Wednesday through Friday. Saint Thomas University will be cancelling all operations, classes, programs and events from Thursday through the weekend. Nova Southeastern University will cancel classes at all Florida and Puerto Rico campuses effective Wednesday at 8 a.m. The university will remain open on Wednesday for faculty and staff, and will close on Thursday at 8 a.m. Barry University will close all university operations at all Florida locations effective Wednesday at 4 p.m. through Friday. Monroe County will close all of its government offices on Wednesday. Miami-Dade Courts and Clerk of Courts’ offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Doral Government Center will be closed to the public Thursday and Friday. Parks and Museums
Monroe County will close all of its county parks on Wednesday. Big Cypress National Preserve will close at noon on Wednesday. Biscayne National Park will be closed from Tuesday until further notice. Pérez Art Museum Miami and Verde restaurant will be closed Thursday through Sunday. PAMM Tech Week has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. The City of Doral will close all parks starting Thursday until further notice. Events
The Miami International Auto Show has been postponed to an unknown future date after originally being set for Saturday, Sept. 9th The NFL has not yet made a decision on the Miami Dolphins season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, originally scheduled for Sunday. City events in North Miami will be cancelled from Thursday, Sept. 6 through Monday, Sept. 11. The BSO Shred-a-Thon scheduled for Sept. 9th at the Charles F. Dodge City Center has been cancelled. Pembroke Pines Mayor Angelo Castillo’s HOA meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11 at 7 pm has been cancelled. The Archdiocese of Miami’s celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Charity scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8 has been postponed. The City of Pembroke Pines will suspend bulk pick up on Wednesday after pick up in Zone 9 is completed. The 9-11 Observance to have taken place on Sept. 11th at the Pembroke Pines Memorial Park has been cancelled. Travel

Norwegian Sky Sept 8. three-day cruise from Miami to the Bahamas has been cancelled. Norwegian Escape Sept. 9 seven-day cruise from Miami to Eastern Caribbean has been cancelled. Flights
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport urging travelers to check with airlines. Key West International Airport will close Wednesday after the last flight departs at 5:50 p.m. Where to find Sandbags
The City of North Miami will be giving out sandbags to North Miami residents at the North Miami Motor Pool, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. while supplies last. (maximum of six per resident) Adonel Concrete will be offering free sand beginning Tuesday and continuing through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Sweetwater plant, located at 2101 N.W. 110 Avenue. The company has set aside 1 million pounds of sand per day for the public. Individuals are asked to bring their own bags to fill the sand.
