Hi all. I’m building a trading algorithm that uses options on the spy to simulate high leverage trading on the 1m chart. I use the delta combined with stock price to determine the correct contract sizing to place stop losses at high and lows of bars with a given amount of risk (also to determine my targets obviously). So for instance, if I want to place a stop loss below the previous 1m bar. Assuming that bar is $0.10 in size and the delta of the strike price I’m using is about 0.5. I would enter at whatever the premium is at once the current price crosses the high of the previous bar and I would set my stop at my filled premium - 0.5*0.1 (or premium - 0.05). Has anyone traded with this kind of position sizing strategy before and if so what were your experiences with slippage, entries, exits, and it’s general likeness to trading with shares on massive leverage (as that’s essentially what I’m trying to do here).
For about a year now I have been trying to find a scalping strategy (1 minute or 5 minute) that has a high win rate and at the same time also provides at least 2-3 trading opportunities in a forex major pair every day. I have spent countless hours on courses, books, Youtube videos, backtesting, and paper trading and yet have failed to find a single good scalping strategy. Can someone please point me in the right direction or teach me their own strategy?
Paper trade acct with 25k and grew it to 108k within 4days scalping SPX 1m chart.
Set my TOS paper acct at 25k to simulate the real money acct. Started Tuesday this week and ended Friday with a 108k acct. Playing SPX only on the 1m chart with two (2) indicators. DMI_Stochasticextreme & TTM_Squeeze. Fair to mention I had on average 35 trades per day. I guess my question is. How far off from the real acct is the paper acct?
